My room atee left last night with 6 months remaining on my lease.l live in arizona if that means anything, but the apartments say l need to pay the rent, getevictedd, or pay some transfer fee into a 1 bedroom, and pay alot more rent than l am right now.roomate prob not an option or i'd try.???/ any help?

If his name is on the lease, he is jointly and separately liable for all the rent, as are you. If he is not on the lease, you needed to have a subtenant agreement with him. Without that, all you can fall back on is an oral contract between you two, if their was one. But those are very hard to win in court.

If you and your room mate signed the lease you are equally liable for the rent. Talk to your lawyer in this case

If you took it all on yourself, sorry pal you are on your own. Find out how much it costs to break the lease and try to pay that fee. otherwise find a way to stick it out or put an add in the paper to find another roomate.

If your roommate was on the lease with you, both of you are liable for paying the full lease if the other does not (called joint and severable liability). You could then sue your roommate for his/her portion of the rent. If your roommate was not on the lease you're out of luck unless you had a separate written agreement between you and your roommate.

well if you are both on the lease you are both responsible so if you get evicted even if his not there he will get evicted also. in other words it will go on his name also.. some complex will also let you get out of the lease if you pay a months rent but either way you loose your deposit . l would just pay the transfer with if itsz only a couple hundred dolllars because that way you will have good rental history. :)

You have a problem. l do not know what you will chose to do, but l suggest that you sue your former roommate for damages when this is over.. If your roommate had a so-signer on the lease, sue that person together with your roomate for your damages. If you know where your roommate works, it will help you collect.

Well if u have joint & several liability with ur lease, LL can go after roomie, or u or both. It sounds like they r choosing to chase after you. So get yourself another roomie, or pay a transfer fee or figure out how to pay rent.

Actually finding a roomie for 6 mos should not be that hard. . . .they r not stuck with u <; for a whole year. . . .can try out the roomie relationship, & if it works out u can renew or split or. . . . . .
