l was looking for a room. l found really nice studio flat in central London with nice price. But landlord is asking me to pay money after viewing house if l like it. And l will move there after 1 and half month.

He is right but,
How can l be sure that he is owner, and will not change keys before l moved there. and when l moved there some one else comes and says he is the owner.

Does anyone know what should l do.
Flat is really nice for price l do not wanna lose it but l do not wanna be stupid victim after all.

there should be place where real estate records are kept, try to find place before giving money.

l know here in the United States you can look up property taxes online for a property and find out who the owner is.

Before moving in and handing over money make sure you sign a contract/lease, l have read so many questions that say they have not signed a contract.

Sign contract n get stamp as well ask for the proof of the property.

Try to hunt down the title deeds of the property, might be worthwhile contacting the local council as well. they should have the details of the rightful home owner as he/she has to pay the council rates etc.
