My tenant abandons the property she was living in and owes $1600 in rent and late fee and will not return my calls. The husband’s name is under the contract and he is currently in Iraq and will not return my emails. What is the best way to collect the money they owed. Do l go after both of them or just the husband???

Next time, EVERYONE in apartment is ON the lease. Even children are named. NO other occupants permitted.
Some protections for military on active duty.
Your lease is with hubby, you chase him. May be a learning experience.

Do you know what part of the military he worked for. The military does not put up with this kind of behavior you could get him in TROUBLE with them. but for now l would send a detailed bill to the wife threatening a lawsuit.
