Does anyone know what the exact laws are for breaking a lease in Florida? I've been living here for almost 2 years and due to the economy and having financial issues, $1,100.00 per month for an apartment just is not something l can afford anymore. My complex claims that l have to stay here till the end of Feb but l feel there has to be an alternative. Can anyone provide any more information?

READ YOUR LEASE. it will state an opt out or early break clause. usually you can forfeit ur security deposit for a lease break. or sometimes u can do a lease transfer where u find them a new tenant and transfer the lease from ur name to theirs. ask if u can do that!!

Talk to the complex about sub-letting. If they say no.then l am afraid your stuck there.
