They were trying to collect money from my ex husband.The lien was placed on my home 1 year after our divorce was final.l am the only person on the deed of my home.l only found out about it when l went to refinance.

He can do this if the debt occurred while you were married, that is the date that matters, not when it went into collections.

Consult an attorney. l think you can sue who ever put a lien on YOUR home.

Not sure where you live, but normally a lien is attached to the property in question and also linked by a ss# or a name.
Contact an attorney, as there is a lot of gray matter in your question. You do not say who did it, what it is for, and if it was filed and what it says.
